Windows forgets password

“After installing Windows 10 Version 2004 Build 19041.173 and related updates you will find that Outlook and other applications do not remember your password anymore,” explained the firm.

“The issue occurs when some Windows 10 Task Scheduler tasks are configured in a certain way. Until a fix is available, a workaround is to disable these tasks using Task Scheduler.”To implement the temporary fix, right-click the Start Menu, select Windows PowerShell (Admin) and enter the following command:

“Get-ScheduledTask | foreach { If (([xml](Export-ScheduledTask -TaskName $_.TaskName -TaskPath $_.TaskPath)).GetElementsByTagName("LogonType").'#text' -eq "S4U") { $_.TaskName } }”

Ransom repair tools?

The No More Ransom (NMR) Project from Europol. The European ce is a support service for the law enforcement agencies of the EU Member States. The NMR service is very quick and easy to use. You simply upload an encrypted file and/or the ransom note and it will tell you whether your data can be unlocked for free.

ID Ransomware (IDR) is the other service. It is very similar to NMR (from Europol) and was created by one of the folks from Emsisoft, Michael Gillespie, in his free time. He received an award from the FBI for his efforts.

To fix this problem on a computer that is not running Windows Server 2003 as a Terminal Server, force all ports (including DOT4) on the client computer to be filtered for redirection. To do this, add a DWORD value named FilterQueueType to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client\Default\AddIns\RDPDR and set its value data to FFFFFFFF.

Follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
  2. Locate and then click the following key in the registry:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client\Default\AddIns\RDPDR
  3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
  4. Type FilterQueueType, and then press ENTER.
  5. On the Edit menu, click Modify.
  6. Type FFFFFFFF, and then click OK.
  7. Close the Registry Editor.
  8. Restart your computer.
This enables all ports on the client to be redirected.
