Adobe Reader
If you have Adobe "Standard" and are having problems, it may be time to change. See our December '15 newsletter.
Adobe Reader DC (terrible*)
If you have problems with PDF files, try turning off the default of opening the PDF file in the browser. So instead, when you open a PDF from the Internet, Adobe Reader will open separately. We find this much more friendly than in the browser feature. But because there are so many browsers and options, see this Adobe help site: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/opening-pdfs.html
*Just a footnote: This new Reader DC really sucks when it comes to saving fill-in forms. If you have started a fill-in form, saved it then go back to it later, saving again requires you to reselect the destination folder and then of course, prompts you if you want to over-write. Hey Adobe, just give us a save button!

Can't display error
Probably occurring after an update and from an email link. The Reader is attempting to open a PDF document within the browser. Open the Reader separately from applications (or Start menu) and accept the agreement.
Close after accepting and try again...
Printing
Adobe Reader can cause various problems including crashing out when previewing and printing issues. First thing to try is locate and open the Adobe Reader (or Standard) from the Start menu > All Programs.
From the Edit menu, open Preferences, select Internet then uncheck Display PDF in browser.
Another odd issues we see a lot is font issues. Check under Page Display then change the Font rendering option.
